The only things that change the price
- +$495Retrospective valuation date per historical dateA value as at a past date is a separate piece of work: it is built on the evidence that existed at that date.
- +$795Each additional entity per entityA second entity is a second set of financials to work through and a second conclusion to support.
- −$300Business and property together off the business valuation feeWhen one or more properties are valued to the same date by a registered property valuer, arranged through us. Applies once per engagement.
- −10%Accountant or lawyer referral off the published feeA standing arrangement for clients introduced by their accountant or lawyer. Not a cost difference.
There are no disbursements, no printing or sundries charges, and no billing for emails or phone calls. Any add-on is agreed at engagement, never added afterwards.
When a matter needs more than this
The fees above buy a signed report built on the single approach the facts best support. Some matters need more than that: a conclusion cross-checked against a second and third methodology, with a deeper evidence file behind it. That is the report to commission when the number carries real ATO review or dispute risk, when a position sits close to a threshold such as the $6m maximum net asset value test, or when you expect the value to be examined rather than simply filed.
A more comprehensive engagement is scoped and quoted separately, above the published fees. The fee is still fixed in writing before any work begins, the same as every engagement on this page. Tell us the purpose at enquiry and we will tell you which one you need before you pay for either.
Talk through a complex matterBusiness valuation fees range from $1,495 + GST to $3,495 + GST.
In short
A Small Business Valuation, for a business with annual turnover under $2 million, is $1,495 + GST and is delivered in 2 business days. A Medium Business Valuation, for turnover between $2 million and $10 million, is $2,495 + GST and is delivered in 3 business days. Delivery time starts once payment and all required information have been received. That is the fastest lever available to you: the analysis itself, reading financial statements, normalising earnings, testing comparable evidence, cannot be compressed the way scheduling and drafting can, so treat any 24-hour full-report offer with that in mind.
What fast delivery costs, stated plainly
There is no rush loading and no urgency premium: the fee is the standard published fee, set by the annual turnover of the business. Fee structures and standard timelines vary firm to firm, so ask any firm you are comparing for their specific timeline and fee before you decide. Oliver Group's fees are: a Small Business Valuation at $1,495 + GST for turnover under $2 million, a Medium Business Valuation at $2,495 + GST for turnover between $2 million and $10 million, and a Large Business Valuation at $3,495 + GST for turnover over $10 million. Small-business reports are delivered in 2 business days and medium-business reports in 3 business days; the delivery date for a Large Business Valuation is agreed before commencement. Delivery time starts once payment and all required information have been received. Retrospective valuation dates are +$495 each and additional entities are +$795 each. The fee is fixed in writing before work begins and never depends on the concluded value.
What a '24-hour valuation' can and can't include
Some parts of a valuation genuinely compress under pressure: queue position, scheduling, report drafting and the administrative gaps between stages. What cannot compress in the same way is the analysis that makes a report defensible: reading three to five years of financial statements, normalising earnings and testing add-backs, researching comparable transactions and market multiples, and cross-checking the conclusion against the evidence. A market valuation prepared to standards documents its methodology, evidence and reasoning; that documentation is the product, and it takes the time it takes. If a deadline genuinely allows only 24 hours, ask exactly what will be delivered in that window: which methodology was applied, what evidence was reviewed, and whether it comes with the analysis and documentation those standards call for, or a fast-generated estimate without them.
Common urgent triggers, and what is realistic for each
Most urgent business valuation requests trace to one of five triggers: a contract deadline, an ATO deadline, a lender or refinance deadline, a settlement date, or deal momentum: and each has a different realistic timeline. Note this is general information, not tax advice: confirm response windows and lodgement deadlines with your accountant or the ATO directly.
- ·Settlement date: work backwards: your accountant or lawyer needs time to use the report, not just receive it. Deduct at least a week from settlement before comparing against the turnarounds above
- ·Deal momentum: when a buyer or investor is engaged and cooling is the risk, a defensible number a week later beats an indefensible one tomorrow; momentum built on a figure that collapses in due diligence is worse than none
The fastest lever costs nothing: arrive with documents ready
The single largest source of delay in most valuations is not analysis: it is waiting for documents. And if the deadline comes with a budget constraint, the same preparation is the first lever in reducing the cost of a business valuation (How to reduce the cost of a business valuation). Oliver Group's fees are set by the annual turnover of the business: a Small Business Valuation is $1,495 + GST for turnover under $2 million, a Medium Business Valuation is $2,495 + GST for turnover between $2 million and $10 million, and a Large Business Valuation is $3,495 + GST for turnover over $10 million.
The honest trade-off: what a deadline does not change
A report does not become a dispute-grade file because it arrived quickly. The methodology selection, the normalisation of earnings, the testing of comparable evidence and the independent review before issue are not steps we compress for anyone, at any deadline. What a short delivery time changes is scheduling and drafting, not analysis. Delivery time starts once payment and all required information have been received.
Which package for an urgent matter
A standard package is not the right choice for contested, family law or ATO-disputed matters at any delivery speed; family law valuations are handled by our dedicated family law practice, Family Law Valuations, at familylawvaluation.com.au. Common questions.
How fast can I get a business valuation in Australia?+
Timelines and pricing structures vary by firm, so ask any firm you're comparing for their specific timeline and fee before you commit. If you see a 24–48 hour turnaround advertised for a full report, ask what analysis and documentation are actually included in that window, since the underlying evidence review is what typically sets the pace.
How much does an urgent business valuation cost?+
The fee is set by the annual turnover of the business: $1,495 + GST under $2 million, $2,495 + GST from $2 million to $10 million, and $3,495 + GST over $10 million.
Can a business valuation really be done in 24 hours?+
A number can be generated in 24 hours; whether it is a defensible valuation depends on what evidence and analysis sit behind it. Evidence gathering, earnings normalisation and methodology cross-checks are the substance of a market valuation under ATO market valuation guidance: that work takes the time it takes.
Will the ATO accept a valuation prepared to a short deadline?+
No valuation is 'ATO-approved': the ATO does not pre-approve valuations, rushed or otherwise. What matters is whether the methodology, evidence and reasoning are documented well enough to hold up if reviewed.
